Entry #1 - Mixing it Up
Finding a hobby can be difficult to some people, but you have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone to try new things. When I first started cooking, I would only make pasta, noodles and sauce is as simple as it can get. As I started to enjoy the whole process more, I realized I want to make more complex meals. If you think you're bad at cooking, maybe you just haven't made enough dishes to be able to perfect it.
Having a hobby is a place where you can express creativity. People paint pictures, make clothes with knitting, and make beautiful music for so many others to enjoy. All those people didn't start making such difficult pieces in their hobby, they continued working at it. You can't be discouraged from enjoying something because you're not immediately good at it. It takes musicians years to get discovered, but that whole time they continued to work at what they enjoyed doing.
When there is something you find you enjoy doing, continue with it. Venture further into your craft and excel at it.
Hi Emma, I agree with how you explained how finding hobbies can be quite uncomfortable. I find it a little uncomfortable surprisingly to talk about my flight sim hobby a lot with my friends with the fear of sounding like a complete nerd. However, I really do appreciate cooking really good foods as my dad is really good at cooking and makes some really great food! No one was ever good at anything before we kept doing it.
ReplyDeleteHello! I love how you explained the sensation from cooking and the process of it all. I like learning new recipes to cook as well! I love food and all different kinds of concoctions you can make. I agree with it being very enjoyable and fulfilling.
ReplyDeleteHi Emma! I totally agree that finding a hobby can be uncomfortable, but it’s so rewarding once you finally get the hang of it! I might try out the whole cooking thing, it sounds fun and interesting!
ReplyDeleteHey Emma, I never knew cooking can actually be so enjoyable to many. I find it to still be a challenge but I do agree that you do feel accomplished after cooking because you worked so hard on making that one dish.
ReplyDeleteI extremely love your blog and what you wrote about. I can tell this came from the heart because I agree with you. I as well love cooking but i'm not the best at it because I haven’t made enough dishes to be a better cook. Overall I can believe you cook amazing and one day hope to try one of your dishes!
ReplyDeleteHi Emma! I love to cook too and totally agree that the dishes at the end are super annoying! When I started to cook I also just made simple dishes until I felt more comfortable and able to make complex dishes. I totally agree that you have to keep working at something to get better. I think it's really easy to forget that but when you keep working at something the results are amazing!
