Entry #4 - Long Luscious Locks
Having long, healthy, luscious hair is something most women dream of. Some men too. Personally, I find it extremely difficult to get my hair to grow. For my whole life, it feels as though my hair has never grown past my shoulder blades. No matter what oils I use, what vitamins, or maintenance trims I get, it's as though my hair doesn't grow. I've recently been looking for ways to help stimulate growth for long healthy hair, and here is what I've found. One major way to help with hair growth is scalp massages. Massaging the scalp allows more blood to flow, giving the hair follicles more oxygen and essential nutrients needed for hair growth. Along with a boost in blood flow, massaging the scalp reduces stress and tension, which are other contributors to hair loss. You can massage your scalp with your fingertips or with a blunt tipped scalp massager you can find on Amazon or a beauty supply store. Adding oils into your massaging routine will show even better results with hair growth. Rosemary is one of the best oils for your hair. Hair expert and cosmetologist, Ghanima Abdullah, shared with "Yahoo Life" that rosemary oil works against the hair loss hormone DHT. Having this block of DHT reduces the effects on the hair follicle making them stronger. There are many other oils that contribute to hair growth, rosemary oil is just one of the best! Last but not least, taking vitamins and supplements that promote hair growth are great to add into your hair care routine. "Nutrafol" is the number one dermatologist-recommended hair growth supplement brand. They target key root causes of thinning, such as, stress, nutrition, lifestyle, etc. Not only do they target causes of hair thinning and loss, but they also consider age. They have supplements for women ages 18-44, along with a vegan option, women 45 and up, and also supplements for women in the first year postpartum. And they don't just cater to women, they have hair supplements for men too. There are so many supplements out there to try but Nutrafol is one of the best. When starting my hair growth journey, I didn't know there were so many things that could help speed the process along. Hopefully I'll have the long hair I've always dreamed of with all these new things to try. If you decide to try some of this out, I hope it helps! Just know it won't all happen overnight.
I love how you portrayed this common topic and how you connected it to yourself and how you've experienced this! I do agree, I've tried so many things I've seen on the internet. I can say scalp massages do have an impact in hair growth and stimulation and overall make you feel better.

ReplyDeleteas a person with long hair im constantly going to war with my own.
My hair is always a mess, so I've always kept it short and never bothered to grow it out. Now that I'm out of high school and growing out my hair a bit so it looks more textured and fluffy, it gets really hard to take care of properly. Maybe I could use your tips to grow out my hair even more!
ReplyDeleteHi Emma, I have always liked my hair a little longer then normal as a male and having thin hair is a nightmare. Im constantly having to keep up on it but its kinda like a reward in the end.
