Power of a Blog

When thinking of a blog, I'm sure most people will think about people sharing things about their personal life on a daily basis. That is not all a blog has to be. Blogs can be whatever the writer wants it to be about. One could have a blog all about makeup, dogs, how to not kill your plants, and so many other things.

A variety of things could be learned from reading a blog. An actor, Gwyneth Paltrow, started a blog in
2008 called "goop". It started out as a small newsletter and it is now number two of the 20 Best Lifestyle Blogs. On her blog, you can find articles about clothes, personal care, relationship advice and so much more. Not only can you read a variety of articles on her blog, you can shop for the items listed in each article directly from the site. You get insight and read more in depth about an item that you could potentially be interested.
All different types of topics that could benefit your life and learn about stuff that is consistent with our daily lives.

It doesn't all have to be about upgrading your lifestyle either. People magazine also has an online website, People.com. People also follows along with lifestyle, but more popularly known for their articles on celebrity news and drama. Although celebrity drama and how they live their lives isn't something we could use to benefit our normal people lives. It is very entertaining to know what goes on behind the scenes of a celebrities' life.

You may have read a blog before and not even known it. Have you ever looked up something new to make for dinner and a 'random' website shows up? It may have been a blog. I use blogs all the time when I'm looking for a new recipe.

Blogs don't necessarily need to teach you something. Mostly you gain new information, whether it be what the most moisturizing cream on earth is or how Gypsy Rose cooked a romantic dinner for her boyfriend for the first time. Blogs can be way more interesting than a person you don't know telling the world about what happened at the coffee shop yesterday.
